Fans of Stuart McLean’s Vinyl Café radio program gathered at Unitarian Universalist Church of Chattanooga on December 1st for An Afternoon at The Vinyl Café.  Christmas has always been a special time at the Vinyl Café and a beloved traditional start to the holiday season. Our program began with The Victorian Quartet’s a cappella rendering of English and German Christmas carols, followed by the hilarious misadventure, ”Dave Raises the Turkey”.  Act One concluded with a Christmas Carol sing-along lead by the Quartet, a.k.a. Rebecca Clark, Sebastian Duncan, Selina Duncan and Christian Horvath.

Intermission featured a cookie bar with a variety of tasty, homemade holiday cookies.

Act Two kicked off with the delightful tale of Dave’s quest to find ‘the perfect present” for his wife, Morley titled “Dave Makes Snow”.  Brrrr – we then headed south to warmer climes with toe-tapping tunes and sing-along songs by the Tropic SõL trio – Roger Davis on drums, Jon Littlefield on bass and Dylan Kussman on lead guitar and vocals. The evening concluded with the classic story “The Magic of Santa Claus” read by Lynne Higgins.

We invite everyone to mark their calendars for the next family-friendly edition of
