The Shape of Nature - May Day

On this Star Wars Day—May the 4th—Rev. Mandy Goheen invites us to explore the sacred patterns that connect all things, from galaxies far, far away to the quiet beauty of the Irish countryside. Drawing from her December journey to Ireland, she’ll share the unexpected ways nature revealed itself through ancient shapes and rhythms, and how the city of Belfast stirred something deeply personal—a sense of coming home. In the spirit of May Day, this service celebrates slowing down, letting go, and opening ourselves to wonder, connection, and the sacred geometry of life.

Congress is in session. Please contact your senator/representative and ask them NOT to cut Medicaid and SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), as they work on the national budget. Taking care of our people is basic. Tennessee Senators Blackburn and Hagerty have email addresses online.
Beloved UUCC Members, Friends, and Supporters—
ACTION NEEDED!

As of today, we’ve received 28 pledges totaling about $64,000. That’s a strong start—but our goal is $160,000, and we need everyone’s support to get there. If we’re going to present a balanced, responsible budget at our Annual Meeting on June 8, we need your pledge now.
My family has increased our pledge this year by 7%, bringing our total to roughly 8% of my UUCC salary (don’t worry—Andre did the math! ). That math gave us food for thought—and now we’re even considering another increase. Have you done the math? Have you considered what you can give?
We give because we believe in this community. We believe in you. Every gift, big or small, brings us closer to our goal—and helps UUCC thrive in the year ahead.
Please make your pledge today!

With love,
Rev. Mandy

P.S. Shout out to the 28 pledgers who have already stepped up—thank you!

Amber Asmi had a bad fall a week ago and fractured her right tibial plate and just had surgery on the 15th of April. With an active toddler Amber and Johnathan could really use some help with cooking. Please consider taking them a meal, we know what good cooks you all are! https://mealtrain.com/63v44k
