At the circle you will speak for that animal, plant, world briefly about what you are worried about with Climate Change. In solidarity with the global COP30 Climate Conference, the Chattanooga Candlelight Vigil will gather our local community to stand with people around the world calling for bold, compassionate climate action.

The 30th session of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conference of the Parties—COP30—will be held in Belém, Brazil, from 10–21 November 2025. This landmark conference brings together nearly all nations, Indigenous Peoples, scientists, and business leaders, to accelerate international climate action—especially in limiting warming to 1.5 °C, enhancing national climate commitments (NDCs), scaling finance, and enabling a just transition.

As global leaders meet in the heart of the Amazon, we’ll gather here in Chattanooga to reflect, pray, and act in hope for a livable and just future for all.
November Art on the Walls:
Threads of Fall
An exhibit by UUCC members and friends

Art on the Walls presents “Threads of Fall,” an exhibit of 7 fiber art works by UUCC members and friends. The exhibit
opened Sunday October 5 and continues through November. The artists have interpreted this season’s burst of orange, yellow, and red using fabric and yarn.

Fiber artists Emily Compton, Cindy Collins, Jen Horning, Beau Miller-Palmer, Carol Hobbs, Leslie O'Rear, and Jody Borochoff evoke the beauty of fall with stitched, woven, or knitted creations.

The exhibit is rounded out with a large collaged canvas of leaves and pumpkins created by the RE class of 5 to 10 year olds. Photographs from members’ collections add additional color to the exhibit.

Some fiber art is for sale with a percentage of proceeds donated to UUCC. The branch weave above is by Emily Compton. The quilt to the right was created by Cindy Collins.

Puppies!

Hello everyone. Whitney (UUCC Office Admin) here. My family adopted a dog from the shelter at the end of August. Much to everyone's surprise, she was pregnant. The shelter didn't know she was pregnant, even the vet had no idea when we took her for a check up and to get her rabies shot. She had an appointment scheduled to be spayed but of course we had to postpone that due to being woken up in the middle of the night Mid-October to her giving birth.

We have no idea what breed the father is since she is estimated to have been about 2 weeks pregnant when we adopted her. Our dog (the mama dog) is thought to be an Australian Shepherd/Lab mix. There are 6 puppies total, 2 of each color (brown, black, and grey with black spots), and 1 male and 1 female in each set. We are looking for good homes for the puppies where they will be safe, loved, and part of the family. We are anticipating they will be medium/medium-large breeds and likely full of energy (as are most puppies). They aren't ready to go to new homes just yet, it'll still be a few more weeks, but we wanted to go ahead and start the search process.

If you or anyone you know may be interested please contact me at whitneyh@uucc.org for more information, pictures, etc.

Thanks!
