Rev. Mandy Back Part time in February!

We’re so glad to report that Isaiah Goheen is progressing well! With regular therapy and the support of his family and many friends, Rev. Mandy says she’s very pleased! And so are we!

She will continue to be off for the rest of January to attend to Isaiah, using her remaining 2025-26 vacation time. During the last week of this month, she will be attending a week-long training on various ministerial topics through the UUA, something she had signed up for prior to her Sabbatical. She’s shifted her attendance to on-line to be home with Isaiah.

THEN, on Feb. 1, join us when we welcome Rev. Mandy back to the pulpit! We’ll have a small welcome back reception after the service. During February, Mandy will be working part time, using the remainder of her 2025-26 study leave. She will be doing the services on the first and third Sundays of the month. Her schedule for March will be determined later, as we see how Isaiah continues to heal.
Home. Home is more than just a place - it's a feeling. Home may be where you live, a memory, a culture or a person or activity that makes you feel welcome and loved. In this class, we will explore what "home" means to us and create a personal keepsake. The finished size is approximately 4"x6". Using fabric allows us to tell stories through texture, color and pattern. Each piece of fabric may represent some aspect of your "home."
  • Please bring fabric/paper scissors and pinking shears if you already have them and want to use them (no need to buy anything—we have plenty to share).
  • You’re welcome to bring personal embellishments like beads, charms, or stamps if you have them (optional—materials will be provided).
  • The event is fun, relaxing, and low-pressure.
  • No prior skills needed—no sewing, art, writing, or drawing experience required.
**PRIOR REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.**

MÉLANGE IN BLUE

An Art on the Walls Exhibit beginning
January 11, 2026

Webster defines mélange as “a mixture, often of incongruous elements.” Moving from alcove to alcove, the viewer encounters prints, original paintings, photography, and fiber art. The mix is abstract, representational, and in-between: the only commonality being the color blue.

Original art is presented by Qimmah Zayn, Carol Hobbs and Emily Compton. The photograph titled Blue Reflections is by Richard Dubé. Prints include shibori-patterned lokta paper and the art of Franz Marc. Most works are available for purchase with a percentage of the price donated to UUCC.

The above painting is Tumbling Blocks by Carol Hobbs (30 x 30, acrylic).

Church Office Drop Offs???

The church office continues to be a place for well-meaning folks to leave things they think someone can use. Please do NOT do this without first a) making sure the church can use it, and b) labeling it with your name and where it is suppose to go. If you don't already have a place for it to be, please don't just bring it and drop it, resulting in someone else having to take it somewhere to be donated.

CURRENTLY there is a microwave in the office. Does it have a location for use? If not, it will be donated elsewhere. Same with a pile/bag of clothes.

Thank you so much for caring for UUCC and our people....and helping us keep a bit of order in the office. :).

YOU ARE INVITED!
