The Ripple Effect: Emergence in Motion
Emergence often arrives quietly, then gathers momentum through relationship and trust. With the help of song and story, we’ll reflect on how love and meaning ripple outward when we stay present to one another. This service invites us to notice what we are carrying forward together.

ALL are invited to join "SINGING for SOLIDARITY and RESISTANCE," - a monthly community sing-along for Sustenance, Solidarity, ReSistance, and Support on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 10-11:30am at the Unitarian Universalist Church at 3224 Navajo Dr, Chattanooga, TN, 37411.
Singing is a resource, a gift, and a power that helps to connect us, to regulate our nervous systems, to metabolize our feelings. Singing from the heart is not about perfection its about changing ourselves and our world.
We will be sharing simple songs of historical significance (ie: "We Shall Overcome") as well as new songs for THIS moment in our collective history, including many being sung now by our friends in Minneapolis, MN. Whether you come to sing, breathe, or simply BE with us in these times, this space is for you and You are welcome HERE.

Congregational Survey and Town Hall: Thank You for Sharing Your Voice
First, we want to offer our sincere thanks to everyone who took the time to complete the congregational survey and participate in the town hall conversation. We truly appreciate the care, honesty, and thoughtfulness you brought in sharing your hopes and ideas for the future of our church.
The responses, written comments, and full town hall notes have now been compiled and reviewed. We are grateful for the depth of reflection and the shared love for this community that was evident throughout.
Several themes surfaced consistently in both the survey and the town hall conversation, including enthusiasm for participatory worship, shared leadership, a breadth of speakers and perspectives, and small-group opportunities that foster deeper connection within our congregation.
On January 28, 2026, the full survey results and town hall notes were formally presented to the Board of Trustees so that the complete range of congregational perspectives is available to them. The work of gathering, documenting, and communicating what was shared has now been completed.
Thank you again for showing up, speaking honestly, and demonstrating how deeply you care about this community and its future.

BLACK HISTORY MONTH: BLACK WRITERS OF THE 20TH CENTURY
Art on the Walls February 2026
To honor Black History Month, a poster exhibit features six renowned Black writers of the 1900s. Their talented works are profound statements captured in print and boldly placed before the public eye. The posters feature Alex Haley, Toni Morrison, Zora N. Hurston, Octavia Butler, Richard Wright, and The Color Purple.
Pictured above is Richard Wright (1908-1960), author of Native Son. Wright was a novelist, non-fiction writer and short story writer who was among the first African American writers to depict the harsh realities of life for Black Americans in the Jim Crow era.
