In the days of the great sailing vessels, the cry "All Hands on Deck!" wasn’t just a request—it was a recognition of mutual necessity. When the winds shifted or the seas grew high, every person on board was essential to keeping the ship steady and the mission moving forward.
Our congregation is no different. We are a vessel for justice, a sanctuary for seekers, and a home for pluralistic faith—but the ship only sails when we all pull the ropes together. As we reach the Final Sunday of our Stewardship Campaign, we gather to reflect on the transition from being "passengers" to "crew members."
How does our collective generosity—our time, our talent, and our financial gifts—ensure that the UU Church of Chattanooga remains a lighthouse in our community for years to come?

On the 3rd Sunday of each month, a local organization is selected to receive our entire collection plate for the week. This Sunday, we will Donate The Plate to Waterways!
Their Mission: lead community action to restore waterways and protect the local ecosystems on which we all depend. They envision a future where every child knows the beauty of their natural surroundings, every community takes part in stewardship, and every waterway thrives.

UUCC's 2026-2027 Stewardship campaign winds up this weekend with a wonderful Thank You Mediterranean Luncheon (with options for all types of eaters). All are welcome! UUCC members and staff offer a sincere thank you to everyone who has pledged. Forty-five forward looking individuals and families have resolutely decided to invest in the future of UUCC, and have pledged $106,500 toward next years budget! However, we are still a long way from our goal of $172,000. If you feel that you should support UUCC financially next year, NOW is the time to make your pledge. If you have pledged this year, please take and wear a "PLEDGED" button from the "Pledged Buttons" basket at the service this Sunday to declare your participation and receive your thanks.

Nominate a Local Group for Donate the Plate, 2026-27 Year
UUCC has a long history of supporting other local groups doing good in our community. Donate the Plate happens the third Sunday of each month. The entire offertory collected goes to a specified local organization to help sustain their mission. We seek ideas from the members of our congregation for worthy not-for-profits in Hamilton County. Once the nominations are gathered, the Social Justice Committee will make the final selections and create the Donate the Plate calendar for the fiscal year, July 2026-June 2027.
Look for the nomination sheet in the fellowship area starting April 5. You can also send your nomination to judygallagher@uucc.org. Organizations must have a physical place a check can be mailed to; and be a local group, not a national organization. Please provide an address or website and/or phone number. Deadline for submissions is April 30. Questions? Seek out Judy!
