Volunteer Get Together This Sunday!

Want to volunteer at the Free Store but feeling nervous? Don't want to go alone? Don't know what to expect? We have the event for you!

We're orientation/get together for volunteers to get to know the store and each other. You don't have to attend orientation to volunteer, but if you would feel more comfortable, we'll spend a little time showing you around the store and explaining how we operate. That way you'll know what to expect when you sign up for a shift. We'll have light snacks and a bunch of regular volunteers to chat with.

Even if you aren't a new volunteer, you should come hang out with us!

The next Orientation/Get Together is Sunday, 10/26. Orientation will start at 2pm. Plan to be at the store for about an hour. Please just let us know if you plan to attend so we know how much food to bring. Please bring any friends or older children that are interested in volunteering also!

The Family Justice Center is looking for volunteers for two important programs: Faith Against Abuse Alliance and Men PACT.
  • The FJC's Faith Against Abuse Alliance (FAAA) is a diverse collective of faith communities that want to equip and be equipped with the information and skills to effectively and appropriately respond to domestic violence occurring in their spaces. They create training opportunities and foster community among those of different faiths to create safer faith spaces for all.
  • Men PACT, the program Timothy Machado leads, is a community movement focused on engaging men of all ages in the work of intimate partner violence prevention. People of all backgrounds and identities are invited to participate in this as they're given the tools and information they need to have crucial conversations in brave spaces around things like, healthy relationships, positive identities in manhood, and how to be an advocate for yourself and others, regardless of who they are.
They are still building out a website for Men PACT, but if someone wants to get in touch, they can email Timothy Machado, LMSW
FJC Prevention Coordinator, or fill out this form: https://wkf.ms/49WgOzm.
The FAAA's website is here: https://hamiltonlifechurch.com/faithagainstabuse.

Join Regional Roundtables to Shape the Future of TN Schools

Join EdTrust-Tennessee on Tuesday, November 18 from 5pm – 7pm for our Chattanooga Regional Roundtable – co-sponsored by local and state organizations in the Tennessee Alliance for Equity in Education. As sweeping federal changes reshape the education landscape, these gatherings offer a timely opportunity to bridge policy and community. Each event will bring together local advocates, policy makers, school community members, and education leaders to explore what these shifts mean on the ground, spotlight local solutions, and strengthen our collective voice ahead of the 2026 Legislative Session.

Join us in Chattanooga to reflect, strategize, and build toward a more just future for Tennessee students. Register today to get additional details and the event location. We hope to see you there!
