Things That Go Bump on the Boardwalk: Pirates, Creepy Critters, and Tall Tales

Why is it kind of fun to be scared—just a little? This Sunday, we dip into family folklore, Appalachian granny magic, and Outer Banks legends to explore the stories that stay with us. Featuring the premiere of The Case of the Flying Crab, the first mystery in the Rev. Hellbender Holmes series, Rev. Mandy invites us to reflect on the wonder that lives between fact and folklore. Join in on slightly spooky Sunday with a little mischief, and a lot of heart.

The Art on the Walls Program presents the June & July exhibit

Black In Bloom:

A Showcase in Black Thriving

This exhibit presents the art of two talented local artists: S.Ja FineArt (Sharketa Penn) and Nola x Trinity (Andrea Sanders). Their creations proclaim Black creativity and beauty.

Both artists are members of The MFA (Music+ Fashion+
Art) Foundation. S.Ja FineArt creates using the digital
painting app Procreate. Nola X Trinity presents prints of her
works on canvas. Much thanks to Karla Scaife for inviting
these gifted artists to exhibit at UUCC.

The art will remain in the church’s gallery through July 27. To purchase the art or additional prints, refer to the wall label. The artists will donate 30% of proceeds to the MFA
Foundation.

Who Wants to Help with UUCC at Pride????

Chattanooga Pride is Saturday, September 27

We need a group of folks to start planning our participation at the festival and parade! What might that entail? Making sure UUCC is registered for both the parade and the festival. Recruiting participants to staff a table and march in the parade. This committee might come up with giveaways for the parade. Will we have a wagon? Will we have bubbles, noise makers, and rainbow costumes? Flags for our walkers? What brochures, tokens to give away at the table?
All the “stuff.” If you’re interested in helping, please write to either
Judy Gallagher at judygallagher@uucc.org or Charlotte Olson at charlotteolson@uucc.org
