We will take a deep dive into justice issues surrounding the US foster care system and the impacts it has on approximately 415,000 children nationwide. Some children wind up in loving homes while others are lost in the system. Every day nearly seventy kids age out of the system and find themselves with no support and no place to call home. Over twenty years ago, Rev Mandy and her spouse became foster parents. In the past twenty years their family has experienced abundant joys, countless sorrows, and six adoptions. One thing they have learned is that foster parenting isn’t for everyone and have even talked a few people out of it. Becoming a foster parent isn’t for everyone, however all of us are a part of bringing joy and justice into the lives of foster kids – what part will you play?
