The theme for December is stillness. In times of stillness we find ourselves surrounded by silence not quite knowing what to do with ourselves. There are many types of silence, silence can be a comfort or it can be awkward. Silence can hold many emotions but anticipatory silent moments are where we are going to place our focus. Many of us are in space of letting a little hoping and dreaming of what coming back together in person might be like. But that time is not here yet. How will we use the silent winter months of anticipation to prepare for what is still unknown? How will we prepare to celebrate the return to our temple (aka building for worship) knowing that our UUCC community has forever changed? How will we end the silence in our beloved church building when the time comes? It is sure to be a joyful noise when the stillness is ended by our presence.
