A View from Israel

Chen Dahan, 23, is the Israeli cultural emissary (Shlicha) for the Jewish Federation of Greater Chattanooga. She has been working to engage the Jewish and non-Jewish community in Chattanooga and connect it to Israel.
Chen was a sergeant in IDF Intelligence, working as an Arabic translator. After her army service and a long trip to the Far East, she studied at a secular yeshiva in Jerusalem, and then joined BINA, the Jewish Movement for Social Change. She has been active in social justice causes.
