11:00 am ~ Blessing of the Animals

Cathy HarringtonBring your friendly/socialized pet for the Blessing of the Animals service! If your pet is not able to attend the blessing service, you are invited to send a digital photo to Cathy at minister@uucc.org for our slideshow and special virtual blessing. You are also welcome to bring a picture of a deceased pet and we will be creating a memorial altar to hold in mind all the love that we have shared with those pets we have lost. There will be treats for all four-legged (and two legged) creatures following the service and Santa Rich will be posing with pets for photos.

9:30 Forum  (downstairs) ~  The Elephant Next Door: Perspectives on Cuba and Its UUs
The recent reopening of diplomatic relations between the US and Cuba has sparked a lot of interest in the large island just south of Florida. So near but so isolated by the American embargo or bloqueo, Cuba allows visitors to experience astounding natural beauty and incredible crumbling architecture. More striking is the friendliness of the Cuban People.

TrinidadPresented by Jorge Vila, a forty-year member of the First Unitarian Church of Cincinnati. Jorge has traveled to Cuba eleven times since 2002, supporting the development of a UU community in Cuba. He also organized a group trip in January 2015 in which a group of UUs from this country visited UUs in Cuba.
