Testimonials

Today was my first day at UUCC. I have to say, they all made it feel like I was home again. I was so happy to be back with UU's, I almost cried from happiness. Thank UUCC for making Chattanooga feel like home.

Chattanooga Newcomer

To be in a place where everyone is striving to simply be better people, love those in the world around them, and accept everyone for who they are and where they are in their journeys, is such a gift for me. The good energy in that place is a pulsing heartbeat... alive and vibrant.

Small Group Coordinator

It was beyond wonderful seeing everyone at church this morning. The hugs - the meaningful service - the singing! I'll be a UU until I die, and I'm gonna make it a point to be there at least once a month. Thanks for the love you continue to show me!

Meet Our Minister

The Rev. Cathy Harrington was ordained to the Unitarian Universalist ministry in 2004 after receiving a Master of Divinity degree from Starr King School for the Ministry, affiliated with the Graduate Theological Union. Cathy later earned a Doctor of Divinity degree from Meadville Lombard Theological School, affiliated with the University of Chicago in 2012. As a young adult, Cathy worked as a hairdresser before opening the Miller’s Daughter Bakery/Café in Seward, Alaska, where she discovered that her call to feed people was a call to ministry. Decades of working with people, raising children, co-founding a UU congregation in Seward, Alaska, and a lot of life, provided a wealth of experience to bring to her ministry.

Cathy served the People’s Church in Ludington, Michigan for 8 years and recently worked with victim family members as a Victim Outreach Specialist in capital murder cases. Cathy began serving UUCC in August 2014.
